L'Histoire
Built in 1830 by the Cahen d'Anvers family of international bankers, the Manor welcomed the greatest artists and politicians of the time: Guy de Maupassant, Ernest Renan, President Sadi Carnot, and the painter Léon Bonnat.
Maupassant, on the water.
It was in 1979 that Claude Valentin transformed this historic chalet into a refined luxury hotel, labeled “Château et Hôtel de Collection”.
The 800m² chalet nestled in a 15,000m² park has been extended with a building comprising 12 rooms and 2 character suites.
Since 2020, the superb Villa des Grands Bois has been completely rehabilitated to provide 8 additional rooms and a luxury apartment (which can be privatized for seminars).
The rooms called "Mirabelle", "Dom Juan" and "Bel Ami" enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Gérardmer.
The restaurant's immense dining room is not to be outdone when it comes to the view of the local nature.
Today, the owners of Manoir au Lac are focusing on eco-responsibility.
What could be more natural in this setting of the Hautes Vosges Regional Park?
